Sighisoara is probably the best preserved medieval city in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
One of the major attractions of Sighisoara is the birthplace of Vlad Dracula in 1431 (the painted house in the photograph above), now a restaurant.
Nearby is the Clock Tower (right) which dates from the 13th and 14th centuries. From the Clock Tower there are views over the old town.
The Church on the Hill dominates the citadel and is approached by covered wooden steps known as the Scholars stairs..
