The Village Museum is often overlooked by visitors, but is a source of pride for many Romanians. The Museum is set in an area of over 14 hectares bordering the Herastrau Lake and includes about 300 buildings from all parts of Romania, some of which date back 400 years. Many were brought here in pieces and reassembled on site. Within the museum are houses furnished to show life as it was. There are also three fine churches, barns and outbuildings. Buildings are arranged geographically and links by paths. The museum is to the north of the city centre and is within walking distance of the Sofitel. For other hotels in Bucharest click here.
